OK Ken, the KB offers the following :-
"How to expand Windows XP files from the installation disk"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888017/en-us
but I couldn't get the Method 1 (msconfig) option to work when attempting to
use the HDD as the source. (Haven't tried the CD as mine is an OEM with
totally different filing method than MS retail)
However, (following a little confab with Mike M - thanks Mike for your
input) I've found that Method 2 (expand command) from the c:\I386 folder
works on my XP box
I used the following command in the Run box (N.B note the space between wa_
and c:\) :-
expand c:\i386\utopia~1.wa_ c:\temp\utopia1.wav
The utopia1.wav sound file expanded and works OK here

Post by MartThere 'appears' to be a copy of utopia~1.wav supplied with XP - albeit in
compressed form - in the I386 folder (on your C: drive). However, I'm not
sure how to extract (expand/unpack) it in XP. You could try asking in one
of the XP newsgroups.

Post by Even StephenI can't use the CD. I did a clean install of XP Pro and tossed the old Me
CD. It's just a personal thing---but that wav. is my favorite one for some
of my programs. Ken
Post by MartNo, - but you'll find a 'fresh' copy in WIN_21.CAB (on both the WinMe CD
and
Post by Martin your C:Windows\Options\Instal or CABS folder) from where you can
extract
Post by Martit. And, by the way, the file is called utopia~1.wav
